To get you started, our Onboarding Team has developed this introductory checklist designed to provide understanding and get you on your feet with your PingHD account. This should help answer any questions you may have and streamline the setup process.
Following these steps, you'll be able to launch engaging content for your location!
Understanding PingHD
Take a moment to review this video that provides an overview of the PingHD platform and its services offered.
Step 1: Account Setup
- Verify Login: Confirm you can access the platform and have set a secure password.
- Invite Team Members: Add additional users and assign the appropriate permissions/roles.
Step 2: Connect Your Hardware
- Register Devices: Enter your player's serial number or unique identifier into the Players section of the dashboard.
- Connection Status Check: Monitor the Status column to confirm the player is communicating with the cloud and has a Current connection.
- Assign to Player Groups: Group your players by physical location or display type (Dining Room Menu, Employee Lobby, etc.) for easier content management.
Step 3: Platform Training & Knowledge Base
- Platform Walkthrough: Navigate through the main dashboard menus to familiarize yourself with the platform.
- Bookmark Resources: Save the PingHD Knowledge Base link for quick access to setup guides and troubleshooting.
Step 4: Content & Asset Management
- Upload Media Assets: Import your images, videos, and fonts into the Assets Library.
- Create Designs (optional): Use the built-in Design Tool to create layouts, overlaying text, images, and widgets.
- Product Tables: Utilize the Products Table feature to create menu boards with the Layout Designer.
- Review Specs: Ensure all uploaded media meets the recommended resolution for your screens (1080p, 4K, etc.).
Step 5: Create & Schedule
- Build a Playlist: Combine your uploaded Assets or custom Designs into a Playlist.
- Set Scheduling Rules: Define when your Playlist should be active (start/end dates, recurring weekly times, etc.).
- Preview Content: Use the Preview tool within the Playlist editor to verify that your content transitions and timing are correct.
Step 6: Go Live
- Publish to Players: Assign your Playlist to the appropriate Player or Player Group and click Save.
- Force Update (optional): If you need the content to update immediately, send a Force Update command from the Player dashboard.
- On-Site Verification: Confirm the content is playing correctly on your display screen.
- Enable Monitoring: Opt-in to Player Offline alerts to receive email notifications if a screen loses its internet connection.
